We’ve alerted our original plans and decided whilst in Manchester to take a diversion into the LiverpoolDocks.   We’d tried to do this earlier in the year but there were no passages available to suit our dates.  SO, with this in mind, we booked for 22nd July for 1 week in the docks.

This gives us chance to squeeze in an extra trip from Manchester Centre to the Liverpool docks .

Once our guests have left us on the 17th, we’ll have a quick turnaround (read LOTS of washing and tumble drying) before new guests arrive the following morning – hopefully early doors so we can set off towards Wigan on the Leigh branch.

Depending on how things have gone, we may overnight  in Leigh.  Next morning we’ll  head onwards to Wigan, passing the Famous Wigan Pier and onto Appley Bridge or Parbold for our next night’s mooring.  Parbold is a lovely little town with a few shops and at least 4 pubs… optional of course J .

Next stop will be Burscough where we can dump rubbish, fill up with water and take a quite trip to  a supermarket.

On our penultimate day, we’ll chug through a few swing bridges as we make our way towards Melling – in readiness for the following mornings passage through the Liverpool Link and into the docks area where we’ll spend our final evening together before our guests depart the following morning to perhaps explore Liverpool or return home.
