4th May - 11th May 2020 (7 nights)
From Liverpool Docks (Leeds & Liverpool canal)
To: Manchester - Castlefield Basin, (Bridewater/Rochdale Canal)
Highlights: Salthouse Dock,
Barton Swing Aqueduct,
Manchester City Centre.
We'll have spent a few days in Liverpool docks since the departure of our previous guests in order to clean and prep the boat for the next leg of our adventure.
Our guests will arrive in the afternoon of the 4th and we'll spend our first couple of evenings together moored along side the pontoon in the docks . . After an early breakfast on our 3rd day, we'll depart and begin our booked transit out of Liverpool towards Melling and ultimately on to Burscough for the evening's mooring.
Next morning after a leisurely breakfast, once we've topped up the water tank we'll chug off towards Parbold, passed the Rufford Branch (which leads down to the Ribble Link) and hopefully tie up on the outskirts of Appley Bridge. After a (hopefully peaceful) night there, we'll chug on through Crooke and into Wigan. Once passed the dry dock, we'll chuck a right onto the Leigh Branch and on past Scotsman's Flash - probably as far as Pennington Flash where we'll moor for the night or it time allows, a little closer to Leigh town.
Next day we'll head off onto the Bridgewater canal through Boothstown and Worlsey before we approach Trafford and our ultimate goal of Manchester City centre. We'll spend our next 2 nights moored here before our guests depart after breakfast on our final morning.
None of the suggested mooring places are set in stone after we Leave Liverpool - if guests would prefer less nights in Manchester, we can always add in an additional night elsewhere.
