Hopefully we’ll have been able to spend a few days moored in Llangollen – if not, we’ll have chugged back towards Chirk and waited there for our guest to join us the 20th. Once our guests have joined us, we’ll begin our journey towards Trevor Basin and over the Pontycysyllte Aqueduct. Once crossed, we'll wind (turn) and head back across again towards Chirk, passing through Whitehouse Tunnel (191 yards) and Chirk Tunnel (459yards) we’re back in peaceful countryside. We'll probably moor a little before the 2 locks at New Marton for our first night.
Next day. we'll have a leisurely start and pass by the Montgomery Canal.... pausing perhaps rather than passing through 4 locks – ( the 1st pair being a staircase, followed by 2 single ones) to take a look. and head on the main Llangollen towards Ellesmere. On Leaving Ellesmere, we’ll make our way through Ellesmere Tunnel (87 yards) – passing Blake Mere and probably chug on to somewhere near Colemere and then tie up for the night.
Our penultimate full day will see us chugging leisurely onwards to Whitchurch and through Grindley Brook locks... after which, we'll moor in reasonable time and moor here late afternoon so our guests can explore.
On our final morning, once breakfast is over we'll chug onwards to our final destination of Nantwich – today's journey will include narrow and broad canals, a swing bridge and Hurleston locks before we tie up for our final time around Nantwich Marina where our guests will depart the following morning after breakfast to continue their travels.
