Hopefully we'll have been able to spend a couple of days moored near Witchurch Marina – With luck, we'll have been able to fill with water, do a pump out and top up with diesel. We try whenever possible to utilise boat yard services as we chug our way around the system. We know sometimes it's more economical to take our containers to a local garage to get diesel etc but we appreciate the convenience of using marina services.

Our plan for this cruise, is to take things steady – the traffic on the canal will have slowed down a bit since our last visit here and as we're not in a rush, we'll stay a couple of nights in both Ellesmere and either Trevor Basin (if we can get in ) or Llangollen at the end of the trip.

Assuming our guests join us early afternoon, we'll chugg off from Whitchurch and probably moor up around Blake Mere Visitor Moorings. At this time of year, we'll still be competing with the hire-boaters for space but we'll get in somewhere... The actual stopping points on this trip are intentionally fluid... the secnery is so lovely that we're aware our gueusts may wish to decide where THEY would prefer to moor up... we're happy to go along with this and embrace the freedom to make it up as we go along...

Day 2 will see us passing through Ellesmere Tunnel before we turn up the Ellesmere Arm and hopefully spend a couple of days in the town Wharf.

Assuming we've found it ok, we'll have spent a couple of nights up the arm before turning and heading back to the mainline. Chugging on, we'll aim to end the day somewhere around New Marton Visitor Moorings.

Next morning, we'll be 'Chirk bound' – passing over the aqueduct and then tunnel. Depending on how busy it is, we may go over the PontcysyllteAaqueduct today or alternatively, tie up somewhere and tackle the next morning.

If there's space, we'll moor up in Trevor basin for a night so as to allow a walking opportunity to take photos of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct from below... if not, then we'll chug on and spend our final couple of nights moored in Llangollen Basin before  returning to Chirk for our guests to leave us after breakfast on the 16th September.
