This is our last cruise with guests on for our 2020 season... we're ending it in Stoke on Trent as unlike previous years, we intend to have a few months in a Marina (plugged into shore-line) to sit out the worst of the winter... having continuously cruised all year, it's been frustrating trying to plan around the CRT winter stoppages...
After a few days in Burton Upon Trent to clean and ready the boat, we'll be ready to depart after lunch on the 23rd... mixed emotions as it'll be the last time we cruise with guests for several months.
After a couple of hours chugging, we'll aim to tie up for the day at Alrewas – a pretty village with nice 13th Century Church (with old leper window) and thatched cottages.
Next morning we'll head off toward Fradley Junction – a few locks today through mainly rural scenery before we approach Rugeley. Once through Rugeley, we'll make our way to Great Haywood and moor for the evening.
After a (hopefully peaceful) nights rest, next morning we'll chug off and continue our Northerly route with an easy day and arrive in Stone after lunch.
The following morning after breakfast we'll cast off and make our way though a few more locks, heading into more urban areas now – We'll see Stoke City football club in the distance before we moor for our final night together in Etruria.
Our guests will depart after breakfast the following day and continue their adventure independently – whilst we begin our list of boaty maintenance jobs to work through over the winter.
