After we've hung around – hopefully around the Museum moorings for a couple of days, we'll be ready to set off on our travels again... if things haven't worked out as planned, don't worry, we'll make sure we come back in to the basin to collect our next travelling companions at an agreed time.
We're rather excited about this next leg as it'll be another 'new bit' for us.
Our first day's chugging will take us back down the Shroppie (Chester Canal) and about 9 miles of travel into Chester where we'll moor for our first evening together – probably near the Bridge Inn.
Depending on whether we've partaken of any/too much libations in the aforementioned establishment , we'll depart in good time the following morning and after 4-5 locks, moor for the evening somewhere around Hand Green.
Our third day will find us on the Middlewich branch – now reopened following the spectacular breach that occurred in 2018 … apparently new leaks are appearing but fingers crossed CRT will have sorted them out before any serious damage occurs again. We'll plan to moor around Aqueduct Marina but we'll have to see what progress we've made.
Day four, should find us on the Trent and Mersey Canal moored around the bottom of Middlewich locks for nightfall.
Next Morning we'll be ready for Anderton and all being well, we'll go down the boat lift after breakfast and onto the River Weaver.
We've heard many reports of how lovely the River Weaver is so we have high hopes for the final part of our journey. We will HAVE to take extra care as the river is reportedly quite shallow around Winsford but it's where we'll aim to tie up and end this cruise- our guests departing after breakfast the following day.
