This trip will start and End at Etruria Visitor Moorings – either on the start of the Caldon Canal or Mainline of the Trent and Mersey if we can’t get in up the arm.

Total distance is 38 miles and 36 locks . There are 8 moveable bridges of which 2 are usually left open; 16 small aqueducts or underbridges and 4 tunnels (Leek Tunnel (130 yards long) and Froghall Tunnel (75 yards long.

Guests will arrive approximately 1.30pm on day one and after an introductory blah blah (and most probably glass of something fizzy) we’ll chug off to begin our adventure.  The aim will be to make it up as we go along but we will need to put a few hours chugging in before we tie up for our first night in order to get out of the less salubrious areas at the start of the canal… after that we’ll play things by ear and see where we end up.

At the end of the trip, we’ll have returned to Etruria and guests will depart following breakfast on the final morning.
