Solihull to Burton Upon Trent  £600 pp

We'll have spent a few days in and around Solihull to prepare the boat for our penultimate guests of the season.

When they join us after lunch on the 16th October, we'll need to head straight off to begin our journey northwards as we aim to moor for our first night together around Nechells Green. Depending on what time we departed, we may end having to moor just after lock 57 at Bordesley Junction if we run out of daylight.... Unlike “hire boats” we CAN travel during the dark … however, given the increased risk of slips/falls we try and avoid it whenever possible.

After breakfast the following morning, we continue our northerly route towards Salford Junction, where we'll turn right to join the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal and make our way through Curdworth Tunnel before tying up for the day to allow exploration of the area before nightfall.

Next morning, we begin our journey down Cudworth Locks and head towards Fazeley Junction, where we'll turn to continue our trip along the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal towards Huddlesford – our suggested stopping point today.

Our final day chugging takes us on the Coventry canal through more rural surroundings than we've been used to and on to Fradley Junction. We turn right on to the Trent and Mersey canal here, pass through a couple of locks and are then back into urban surroundings once more.

We'll moor up for our final evening together in Burton Upon Trent around Shobnall. Our guests will leave us after breakfast the following morning to continue their exploration independently whilst we prepare the boat for the final trip of this season.
