 NARROWBOAT ELLIS

Assuming there's been space, we'll have spent a couple of days in Bugsworth Basin since our lasts guests departed to clean and prep the boat.

Once our new guests have arrived in the afternoon, we'll chug down the arm and chuck a left turn before mooring for our first evening around High Lane,

Next day after a leisurely breakfast we'll cast off and head south on the Macclesfield canal . Our journey will take us over 4 small aqueducts that we'll need to keep an eye out for or we'll miss them. The rough plan will be to moor up in early afternoon in Macclesfield so we have opportunity to explore the town.

After a (hopefully) peaceful night, we'll continue our trip south, through Bosley Locks through a quite pretty but narrow section (some friends used to moor on) and on to Congleton for tonight's mooring.

Our final days cruising will take us on the Trent & Mersey main line, through Harecastle Tunnel – after which well tie up for our final evening together around Middleport bridge or winding hole for our guests to depart after breakfast the following morning.
