Hopefully, we'll have been bobbing around on the River for a few days since our last guests departed when our next visitors arrive sometime on the 31st July.
As our planned route isn't too far, we'll probably spend our first evening moored up before departing after breakfast the following morning.
The route up to Runcorn isn't really very far and we could easily do it in half the time we're allowing but why would we? … this is new territory for us and we want take our time to appreciate our new surroundings and explore.
Our second night together will probably be moored at the bottom of the boat lift in preparation for our ascent the following morning. Once up it, we'll pause a while to take a look at the visitor centre if desired. Now we're be back on to the Trent and Mersey Canal (Mainline) and our journey will take us through Saltersford and Preston Brook Tunnels. At some point we'll have to stop and fill up with water – probably once we're back onto the Bridgewater canal – WHERE we'll be liable to pay their extra charge for a short term licence … the Bridgewater not being belonging to CRT.
Our trip will end in Runcorn around Widnes Bridge where our guests will depart following breakfast on our final morning.
