This trip will start at Stretford Marina where Ellis will have spent a couple of days doing a turnaround ... WITH the luxury of shoreline.   For guests arriving by train, you can either use the tram OR (Capt. E's preferred method) grab an uber from either Piccadilly or Deansgate stations.  HOPEFULLY by then, the train strikes will have ended!  Alternatively, if guests would prefer, we can start the trip FROM Castlefield instead… thus allowing for our 1st night together in Manchester centre and an exploration of the vibrant bars if desired.

Guests will arrive approximately 1.30pm on day one and after an introductory blah blah (and most probably glass of something fizzy) we’ll chug off to begin our adventure.

Breakfast wise on ‘Ellis’ the 1st day is usually a DIY affair – (as is every other day)… on alternate days, Capt. E. will rustle some eggs up or maybe the odd bacon sarnie.

Depending on where we overnighted, we’ll push on towards Sale for lunch and then hope for Lymm for our 2nd nights mooring.  Lymm’s a lovely quaint town and well worth visiting a pub or two.

Next morning as we press on, we’ll chug through Grappenhall and Stockton Heath – both reasonably nice areas but we’ll probably try to moor up somewhere AFTER Moore but before Preston brook tunnel.

Our 4th night will probably take us (after a brief lunch stop off at Anderton to look at the boat lift) on to Lion Salt works or maybe The Old Broken Cross pub.

The final day will see us moored up by around lunchtime in Middlewich where this trip will end.

As usual, after breakfast the following morning, we’ll wave a farewell to our guests around 9.30am and begin preparing for the next trip.
